Cloud Street Restaurant, Singapore, May 31, 2023

Cloud Street Restaurant, Singapore, May 31, 2023

We stayed in Singapore for an overnight layover, and my primary purpose for our short stay was to get Noah his first Michelin stars. If you didn’t know, Singapore is chock full of Michelin stars, with 51 restaurants boasting anywhere from 1-3 stars. It was really really hard to pick one place to go, but Cloud Street stuck out to me as a cool and hip, not too stuffy place, with really innovative food. Plus, two Michelin stars is not…

Valle Restaurant, Oceanside, California, USA, April 7, 2023

Valle Restaurant, Oceanside, California, USA, April 7, 2023

Valle is easily the nicest restaurant in Oceanside, and probably all of North County, San Diego. It’s new, it’s Michelin recommended, and if you’re into elevated, true Mexican cuisine, I wouldn’t skip trying out Valle. Honestly, I knew nothing about the place before coming here with my family this month, but we had really great servers who told us about the owner’s culinary and winemaking history in the Valle de Guadalupe in Northwestern Mexico. This is where most of Mexico’s…

Galit Restaurant, Chicago, USA, February 2, 2023

Galit Restaurant, Chicago, USA, February 2, 2023

We were excited to try Galit, one of the newest Michelin-starred restaurants on the block, earning their first star just last April. Galit is a pretty casual-ish Middle Eastern food spot, with an extensive Middle Eastern wine selection including some of the big names like Chateau Musar from Lebanon among other lesser-known wines. The space is pretty large and has bankettes, tables, as well as a long bar-like table along the bustling open kitchen. I love open kitchens, and I…

Elske, Chicago, USA, December 31, 2022

Elske, Chicago, USA, December 31, 2022

Elske is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. It earned its Michelin star almost immediately after opening, and has retained it since then, which has been about 5 years or so. I have visited this restaurant probably about once a year since it’s been opened, and we came here to celebrate our first indoor dining experience after getting vaxxed after COVID. They literally opened up that weekend, and I’m pretty sure they opened just for us. At least,…

Top Five Restaurants for 2022

Top Five Restaurants for 2022

We ate a ton of amazing food in 2022, and it was really hard to narrow down the top five restaurants for the year. A few choices were easy, but there was so much deliciousness this year, it was tough to pick just five, but it had to be done! Below is my countdown of the top five restaurants I ate at in 2022! 5. Roister, Chicago, USA The fifth spot on the list was actually the most difficult to…

Oriole, Chicago, USA August 9, 2022

Oriole, Chicago, USA August 9, 2022

This is my Ode to Oriole in Chicago. My amazing husband brought me here for my birthday this year. Oriole is a two-star Michelin restaurant on the near north side of Chicago, and for me, it probably deserves a third star. I didn’t really want to do a full review of the place, it was my birthday after all, but I did take a ton of photos of my experience here, and I wanted to document it on my blog…

Glover’s Alley, Dublin, Ireland, October 22, 2022

Glover’s Alley, Dublin, Ireland, October 22, 2022

We were very excited to add another Michelin Star to our list, and Glover’s Alley in Dublin was the place where we did it. While I can’t say it was the best meal we had in Dublin, it was certainly the longest and most expensive. The best part about our meal were the wines, which were all incredibly exquisite. The place itself is super cool with an ultra mid-century vibe. The upholstery is pink and velvety, or teal and leathery,…

Under Grain Restaurant, Valletta, Malta, August 27, 2022

Under Grain Restaurant, Valletta, Malta, August 27, 2022

Under Grain was our second and last Michelin-starred experience in Valletta, and we ate here on the last night of our trip. Originally, I had booked at Grain Street, since we already had a Michelin star under our belt and we didn’t want to spend a ton of money. Grain Street has a Michelin “bib gourmand” which means it is excellent food for the value. While we were in Valletta, I received a phone call stating that somehow the reservation…

Noni Restaurant, Valletta, Malta, August 26, 2022

Noni Restaurant, Valletta, Malta, August 26, 2022

I was so excited to go to dinner at Noni, a one-star Michelin rated restaurant in Valletta, Malta. Not only was it going to be our daughter Anna’s first Michelin-starred experience, but it promised to be one of our nicest dinners for our entire trip. Noni easily lived up to my high expectations! Noni is located on Republic Street, which is the main thoroughfare running through the center of Valletta. It was towards the northern tip of Valletta and we…

Roister, Chicago July 17, 2022

Roister, Chicago July 17, 2022

Oh, Roister, you have never disappointed me! This was my third visit to Roister restaurant in Chicago and I went with my brother to celebrate his 40th birthday! Roister’s Chef is Grant Achatz, of Alinea fame. The Chef was actually on hand on this evening working in the kitchen. I like to think he made a special appearance for my brother on his birthday. It was interesting that he was at Roister, and not his three-Michelin-starred Alinea, however from glancing…
