Family Villa, Four Seasons Resort, Jimbaran Bay Bali, May 24-28, 2023
The Four Seasons Resort at Jimbaran Bay is 100% villas. If you stay here, you will have your own private enclave with a ton of space, and the differences in price are basically the views, although there are some massive 2+ bedroom villas available as well. I actually booked a Deluxe Villa, which was a partial ocean view, and this was the nicest villa you could book before the prices took a big jump. They actually upgraded us to a Family Villa, which we realized when we noticed that Noah got his own private kid’s room off to the side of the closet and bathroom areas.
You can check out my overview of the entire resort here, but this article is just about the room. Definitely check out my Instagram page for my full Villa walk through video! Our villa had a private, infinity plunge pool, which was perfect for cooling off after arriving, and after excursions. We had a partial ocean view, so you could see the water, but you could also see the tops of the villas in front of you as well. Still, an amazing view!
On one side of the pool, you have two cushioned loungers under an umbrella. These were in the sun and the umbrella was small and didn’t provide much shade. On the other side was a covered outdoor lounging area with a daybed type of couch and a lounge chair as well, along with a nice-sized table.
The main room was very large, with a king sized bed and a very large seating area. The minibar and coffee area were tucked away behind walls that expanded near the large TV. There were tons of windows providing lots of light and views to the ocean. The bed was super comfortable, and there were no irritating lights on at night lighting up the otherwise dark room. There was turn-down service every evening, setting up water bottles by our bed, closing the curtains, and replacing linens, which was appreciated.
Between the main room and the bathroom was a very large closet area as well as the kid’s room. This gave Noah some privacy and really made the space feel more expansive. The kid’s room even had its own TV in it, although I don’t think we ever turned on any of the TV’s in any of the rooms we stayed at on this trip!
The bathroom was large, with a huge soaking tub and two separate vanities. There was an outdoor shower which we all loved using, which was completely private. The only comment I would have about this whole room is that the toilet chamber has a frosted glass door to it which only opens up partially. There is a door stopper so that the door doesn’t slam into the stone walls, but because of this, the door only opens part way.
Our particular room was on the mid-levels of the resort and not too far from the main pool area and Taman Wantilan where you eat breakfast every day. You definitely needed a golf cart, though, to get to reception and down to the beach. I loved the location of our villa, though, and considering that the next view level up, which is an unobstructed ocean view in a Premier Villa, was a huge jump in price, I would say that the partial ocean view of the Deluxe Villas and Family Villas might be the best value at the resort.
