Jasmine Restaurant, Pay For The View, Eat Delicious Chinese Food
Las Vegas, July 14, 2023
We ate at Jasmine Restaurant at the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas on our last night of vacation with the kiddos. Staying on the north end of the strip, I really wanted the kids to be able to experience the free fountain show, which, to me, is mesmerizing. I can watch those fountains all night!
The vibe at Jasmine is that of a fancy asian tea room, with victorian-type furnishings, and gorgeous details like embroidered butterflies on the menus. There are impressive flower arrangements throughout. During the fountain shows, they do pump in the music, so you can enjoy the full experience, even though you’re indoors.
The service here is quite rushed though – they really want to get people in and out of this restaurant and it is super busy, so I would suggest that you do what we did, and order drinks and appetizers first, and eat them, before you order entrees. They will continuously ask you if you are ready to order entrees, but if you want to enjoy your time here, hold off the kind, but aggressive wait staff! Otherwise, the waitstaff and service was super pleasant, orders were correct, and food and drinks brought out quickly. You will never be left waiting around for your server here, that’s for sure!
I have to start by mentioning that the drinks here are superb. I had a lychee martini, and it was probably one of the best cocktails I had in our four nights in vegas. I absolutely recommend ordering drinks here and taking your time!
We ordered egg rolls and potstickers to start, and they were very delicious. I think I could’ve made a meal out of just these appetizers. We also ordered the WOR Wonton soup, which was extremely filling. There were a few wontons in each of our bowls, as well as a bunch of seafood including shrimp and scallops.
Honestly, this was already enough food, but we also ordered a ton of main dishes as well. We tried the vegetable fried rice and chicken chow mein, which were fine, but nothing super exciting.
The walnut shrimp were a favorite of the entire table – they were sweet, and the shimp were massive and perfectly prepared. The beef and broccoli might have been some of the best I’ve ever had, and the sauce was superb. Finally, the sweet and sour pork was incredible – crispy pork with a deliciously sweet (and sour!) sauce. We all fought over the last bits of that one.
As if we weren’t full already, we had to try a few of the desserts. We ordered the special flavored mochi as well as coconut creme brulee which was served in a coconut! Brilliant!
This dinner was pretty pricey, but you’re paying for the nice views of the fountains. The food is excellent, but when it comes down to it, it’s really just glam’ed up Chinese food. I loved it, and would definitely recommend eating here if you are looking for some nice Chinese food with a view, but just beware of the kind, but quick service and the high prices when you come here!
