Madame Tousseaud’s Wax Museum, Extremely Expensive Tourist Trap
Las Vegas, July 14, 2023
Madame Tousseaud’s has been a staple on the Las Vegas strip for over 20 years. I’ve walked by this attraction probably about a hundred times, and this year, with the kids in tow, I figured it was high time we checked this place out. What an extraordinary disappointment!
Tickets to this museum cost upwards of $40 per person, and for that price, I would expect an experience that would last several hours and would be super interesting and cool. Unfortunately, there are only about six or so rooms full of wax figures, plus a 10 minute 4D second-rate Marvel movie (definitely not actually Disney or Marvel) and that’s it. There are a few bars where you can buy drinks throughout, and maybe if you are totally wasted or high, that would make this experience more worth it.
The first area you walk into are current celebrities, and this was pretty fun. You can actually touch the wax figures and take photos with them. Many of them really do look life-like. It’s quite silly, actually.
The next few rooms have to do with sports figures and then old-timey Vegas figures including entertainers and mobsters.
Finally, there is a room with the Avengers superheroes and there is a pretty cheezy 4D movie that you can watch.
That’s pretty much it. Apart from waiting for the movie, I am pretty sure we went through here in about 20 minutes. It was interesting to see the wax figures, but overall it was pretty lame. For over $40 per person I would absolutely NOT recommend spending the money to visit this attraction.
