Nayara Resorts Restaurants, Ranked! Costa Rica, 2023

Nayara Resorts Restaurants, Ranked! Costa Rica, 2023

We ate dinner at almost all of the restaurants on offer at the sweeping Nayara Resort in Costa Rica and I can say that they were all good. We only skipped Las Terrazas (though for breakfast, it was the best complimentary buffet breakfast of most resorts and hotels I’ve been to worldwide) and Mis Amores (but we did have their lunch menu by the pool several times and absolutely no complaints there!). There were a few stand-outs, though, and so I thought I would rank all of our experiences in a Top Five list! Here it goes!

5. Amor Loco (Nayara Springs)

Red snapper at Amor Loco

Amor Loco was really delicious, and the live music was entertaining. We loved the bread basket and the desserts here especially. The service here was a little spotty, though still quite attentive. This is the best place for funky decor and comfortable seating. Read my full review here!

4. Nostalgia Wine Bar – Spanish Tapas Dinner (Nayara Gardens)

Cheese and charcuterie at Nostalgia Wine Bar

Nostalgia Wine Bar offers a really great tapas menu every night, as well as a huge variety of different wines you can sample by the glass that go great with tapas from Central America, Spain and Portugal. Unlike a lot of resorts in Central America, Nayara really cares about the quality of its wine offerings, so if you are big into wines like I am, definitely don’t miss eating here!

3. Ayla (Nayara Tented Camp)

Octopus skewer at Ayla

Ayla is the newest restaurant offering on the property, and is the only restaurant at Nayara Tented Camp. I absolutely loved the Mediterranean focused menu especially the bread and dips on offer as well as the appetizers. The atmosphere here is luxe, and there is live music here as well. If you are staying at the Springs or the Gardens, don’t hesitate to call a golf cart and have dinner up at the Tented Camp! Read my full review here!

2. Asia Luna (Nayara Gardens)

Batayaki Sea at Asia Luna

We loved Asia Luna so much we ate here twice – on our first and last nights at the resort. This place is small and hip and you definitely need to make a reservation because it’s also one of the most popular restaurants on the property. We adored the food here, but the stand out for me was the Tico Rolls – tempura shrimp rolls with sweet plantains. It’s a killer combo you won’t want to miss. 1. Nostalgia Wine Bar – Wine Pairing Dinner (Nayara Gardens)

Hearts of Palm Ceviche at Nostalgia Wine Pairing Dinner

The Wine Pairing Dinner at Nostalgia Wine Bar gets the top spot for me, not only because the food was the most innovative, interesting and well prepared, and not only because the wines were paired perfectly to go with every course, but our service here was by far the best. Max made our experience here super special, and there was just so much attention to detail during this dinner, that it continues to be the stand out meal in my mind. This meal is pricey, but it’s worth every dollar. From the moment that you sit down at your table, which is set with a bunch of wine glasses and intricately etched dinnerware, to the last morsel of your dessert, you know you are having one of the best culinary experiences you can have in all of Central America.
