Other Restaurants/Bars/Cafes around Nayara Resort, Costa Rica, 2023
This article is going to cover the other places around Nayara Resort to hang out. First, and most important, is the Las Terrazas restaurant at Nayara Gardens. We never ate here for dinner, but we had our complimentary breakfast here every day. The bright and airy restaurant is right next to the reception area, and is really quite huge, but the atmosphere in the morning is buzzing.
Each morning, a different type of coffee is served and they list it outside the restaurant. I loved the Catuai varietal coffee from Terrazu! Typically, you should be able to see the volcano from the restaurant, but it was pretty much cloudy the whole time we were there, so we never did. Also, don’t forget to look out and up, since there are always a ton of birds flying around! A toucan visited us on one of our last days!
The buffet breakfast at Las Terrazas is absolutely epic, and probably the best included buffet breakfast I’ve had at any resort. Their pastries change every day, and they are sweet and delicious. There are gobs of fresh fruit – always pineapple and papaya for me, every single day! There are cereals and yogurts and then there is the made to order area. Each day, they have a different egg-based special, sometimes a breakfast sandwich or burrito. In this area you can also find some of the best french toast in Central America (I think Brian ate it every day) along with other stuff like pancakes, bacon and sausages. They also always have gallo pinto (beans and rice) and sweet plantains as well as other local Costa Rican breakfast foods like slow cooked chicken. There is usually some kind of rotating potato too like a hash brown or roasted potatoes. We loved having breakfast here every day. The food spread here was so epic, I only took videos, so check out my reel on Instagram for all of the food offerings.
If a full breakfast isn’t your jam (though you’d be majorly missing out!), check out Mi Cafecito over at Nayara Springs. This is a cool joint that also has a terrace that you can sit at and sip your coffee. You can order specialty drinks here as well as desserts and pastries. I got an iced coffee here which was delicious. There is also a library here as well as a pool table and other games if you want to hang out in an air conditioned spot when it’s hot, or on a rainy day this place would be super cozy.
Our favorite bar was easily Henry’s Bar up at the Nayara Tented Camp. We had our rum tasting there, which you can read about by clicking here, and we absolutely loved that. The bar area itself also overlooks the volcano and we came so close to seeing the top of it when we were up here sipping our more traditional rum drinks. Hopefully Joseph will be your bartender – he is second to none!
The best happy hour was definitely at the Nayara Springs pool and the Cielito Lindo bar. They have the biggest variety of happy hour cocktails (50% off!), and the cocktails were super delicious too. We loved the vibe at this pool in general (it was our favorite pool of the week – read all about my pool overview here!) and it was extra fun in the evenings.
There are definitely a lot of cute nooks and crannies to explore at the Nayara Resort, and these were just a few of my favorites.
