Top 3 Hotels for 2024
This was a tough list this year, mainly because we didn’t stay in too many spots that warrant being in anyone’s Top 5 list. I tried to save some money in London by staying at a pub, and there were some repeat stays in Las Vegas and Disney World that I didn’t bother to write about this year. That said, there were a few absolutely outstanding stays this year, and I wanted to highlight those three hotels and resorts in a shortened Top 3 list.
3. Bellagio Resort, Las Vegas, USA
I don’t often stay at the Bellagio resort while in Las Vegas, but when I do, it’s always spectacular. The recently refurbished rooms are large, and the location on the Strip can’t be beat. The casino is spacious and fun, and there are some really great bars here. The new Vault speakeasy is a really luxe addition to the Bellagio, and you should definitely check out my full article about it here. While Bellagio is one of the more expensive MGM Resort options on the Strip, every once in a while, it’s definitely worth the splurge! Read my full overview of the resort here!
2. Cala De Mar Resort, Ixtapa, Mexico
I was really excited to check out Cala De Mar, based on photos, reviews, and the many accolades and awards the resort had won in the past. The fact that it is a bit off the beaten path, and offers private plunge pool suites cut into the side of a cliff was an extra bonus. Cala De Mar is an understated but luxurious resort that makes you feel like you’re a world away, and we were excited to arrive at this arid place after a few days in stuffy Mexico City, and we were really able to relax. Viewing frolicking humpbacks from our private balcony and plunge pool was an unforgettable experience, and the fresh food here is second-to-none. Their activity offerings are extensive. While Ixtapa and Zihuateneho are growing toursity towns in Mexico, you can still get away from it all at Cala De Mar. Check out my overview of the resort here!
1. Pavillon Faubourg St. Germain, Paris, France
This stunning Parisian gem was the last place away from home that we stayed this year, and was easily the best. For a city getaway, Pavillon Faubourg St. Germain has everything – from a plunge pool and spa, to a solid breakfast, to a very centralized location in between all of the best tourist attractions, cafes and shopping.
I loved the mid-century modern decor here, as well as our recently renovated room, with a very comfortable bed and plenty of space to move around. The service and concierge here are excellent, and you feel like you’re a VIP from the moment you arrive. Check out my full overview here, and don’t hesitate to book this lovely boutique hotel for your next Parisian getaway!
